Biography

Kathy Thompson is the owner of Katherine M. Thompson CPA APC. She has extensive experience with over 35 years in tax preparation and planning. She is a graduate of Pepperdine University and began her training working for the Big 4 accounting firm KPMG in Los Angeles. Upon moving to San Diego after marriage, she continued working for large local CPA firms while raising her kids.

Kathy serves high net worth individuals and closely-held business owners in the real estate, manufacturing, construction, professional services, restaurants, and retail sales. She has prepared multi-state corporate returns, consulted with high net worth individuals regarding entity choice and estate planning. She also prepares all income gift and estate forms for federal and state governments.

Kathy supports her clients by coaching and mentoring business owners to enhance individual and corporate tax outcomes. Client growth and client relations are the core values she uses in her business.

Kathy has lived in Poway and Rancho Bernardo for almost 30 years, where she has raised her 4 children. She is an avid tennis player and loves to be outside and travel.
